    i have this code in the .aspx
    ..

    is there any way to disable typing at the textbox?
    i tried adding ReadOnly=”True” to the asp:TextBox>

    but it does not allow values to be updated to the textbox.

      Hi Shawn,
      That’s true – if you set the ReadOnly property to true, it doesn’t attach the text changed event in asp.net, however if you mainually add the readonly attribute, using the Attributes collection, then ASP.NET doesn’t recognise this and so still attaches the event handler, even though the text box is now readonly.
